Racing For a Cure is a fundraiser that Devin began to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Devin has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy(DMD) for which there is currently no cure or even an effective treatment. DMD prevents the body from producing muscle which leads to the loss of all muscle function including the ability to breathe and maintain a beating heart. Generally, those with DMD are bound to a wheelchair by the early teens and rarely live beyond 30 years old. DMD affects only boys, but is the most common muscular dystrophy.

We have set up a suggested donation plan for those who want to participate. The basic donation is $1 per race Devin enters and $2 per race he finishes in the top three. However, we are excepting any and all donations no matter how big or small. We are off to a great start having more than 40 committed participants so far. The donations will be collected in late August to be presented to the MDA by Devin during the Jerry Lewis Telethon broadcast.

We hope to finish up the 2011 campaign successfully and God willing, continue to raise money Racing For a Cure until one is found and we no longer need to raise money for the MDA.

If you'd like to participate please RSVP as attending this facebook event. Racing For a Cure Facebook Page (There is no physical event, it's just a way to keep track of those who are donating)
