Bikes: 2005 Kawasaki KX250
2003 Kawasaki KX250
Number: 427
Age: 22

There are very few riders that spend more time on the track than David Schmidt does. David has been riding since he was just five years old. Since then he's been constantly working to get faster and driving himself to and beyond his comfort to continue to push his person limits. At this point there may not be anything David can't do and no one more fearless on the track. He's built a track on his family's property that a lot of the local riders come and ride at. David always has someone there to compete with. Not only does he continue to perfect his abilities, but also helps fellow riders continue to improve their's.

2012 will be an exciting year for David. Last year he competed in his first GNCC event and finished 11th overall. He will be competing in more GNCC races this year as well as AMA National Hare Scrambles and the WIXC hare scramble series. WIXC has produced riders that can compete very well on a national level and David is certainly one of them. He races WIXC A class and finishes near the top of every race. With the work ethic David has and the skills he's developed, 2012 will be even more successful than any year prior. David really is a serious contender in every cross country race he enters. If you want to find him at a race just look on the podium for #427.

Question and Answer

What has working on a family farm taught you that you've carried over into your racing? Hard work does payoff and it's a 110% all the way. It only hurts as bad as you make it, so get over it and move on to a new day.
What has been your favorite track you've raced at and why? I don't have a favorite. I do like variety, so racing new tracks is always fun.
Is there any meaning behind your #427? No, not really. 427 has always been my number.
You work alot, what do you do to relax and have fun? I enjoy racing, working on my bike as well as my friends bikes. I actually have fun at work. I'm more able to relax there since when I'm not there I put so much time and effort into racing and working on my bikes.
